Hormonal Changes
Prenatal stress activates the body's stress response, releasing stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. While these hormones are essential for short-term stress responses, chronic exposure can be harmful.

Immune System Impact
Prolonged stress can affect the immune system, potentially increasing the risk of infections or other health issues for the expectant mother.

Neurological Development For Baby
Your developing baby is sensitive to the hormonal changes associated with maternal stress. Prenatal stress may influence the development of the infant brain and nervous system.
✅ Better hormonal regulation
✅ Improved blood pressure and breathing regulation
✅ Stronger immune response
✅ Improved emotional regulation and stress response
✅ Better sleep and improved energy levels
✅ Optimal development and positioning for your growing baby

Check out Rachel's experience with chiropractic during pregnancy + postpartum! ⤵
Rachel says, "I first started coming to Garden City for migraines and back pain. I was struggling to hold my daughter for long periods of time. 😫
I was receiving care during the time I became pregnant with my second child. I continued to receive care during my pregnancy and have continued postpartum. 🤰🏻Receiving adjustments during those times helped me prepare to have a successful, natural delivery and a successful recovery.
Chiropractic care has helped keep my body calm and regulated. 😌 Even during the newly postpartum days I felt the adjustments helped my body heal and help with my emotions. This then helped me be more present as a parent!"
Go Mama Go!! 🥰

Take a look at how this rockstar Mom experienced a smooth pregnancy + delivery with chiropractic care on her side 🤎
Lauren says, "I had lower back pain from pregnancy and carrying around my two year old daughter. 😔 This was coupled with wrist pain from home projects.
I had tried stretching and moving my body more to help with all the discomfort, but nothing was helping. 🏃♀️ I found Garden City Chiropractic and fell in love with how they do things in their office. The personalized approach and willingness to tailor care to time, budget, and needs is what makes them so different.
As I began getting adjusted, I noticed a few different changes. 👀 Not only did my back pain and wrist pain start getting better, but I also was able to start sleeping on my sides more again! With having two girls at home, I feel more mobile to do all the parenting things!" 💪
We are so proud of Lauren for staying consistent with her care to experience these changes in her health!!

Check out Lisa's incredible pregnancy + labor story! 🤰
She explains, "I first came to Garden City out of desperation. 🥴 I was about 34 weeks pregnant and was extremely uncomfortable and in a lot of pain. The only time I was not in pain was when I was laying down or sleeping. I live a very active lifestyle so this was not only physically painful, but mentally defeating as well. 😫 I remember thinking "how will my body ever recover from being in so much pain?" or "how will I have the strength to give birth when I'm already so tired and miserable?"
I was very frustrated because I only had a month or so left of being a family of 3, and I was missing out on quality time with my 3 year old. 👪 I had a lot of mom guilt because I wanted to be present to have special bonding time with my husband and son before the new baby arrived, but I was in too much pain.
I remember walking in to my OBGYN appointment and begging the doctor for an early induction. My OBGYN couldn't do much for me other than words of encouragement. "You're almost there!" they would say.
After the first week, I felt some small improvements. It wasn't instant relief, but it was enough to know that something was working. I gave birth to a perfect, healthy baby girl and she came when she was ready! 🤩 I continue to get adjustments regularly postpartum - I feel like it was the 'one thing' that I count on doing for myself during that time. A combination of factors made my postpartum experience a lot more enjoyable - maybe it was because it was my second baby, but I felt a lot more balanced." 🌿
We are so proud of this mama of two!!! We love having Lisa in our office and are proud of her for pushing through until she found a solution. 🙌
